Formed in the 1980s, the club offers structured squad training, competitive opportunities, and participation in regional galas. Following a brief disruption when the old leisure centre closed in 2012, the club has flourished, combining performance swimming with a strong emphasis on teamwork, social activities, and community spirit. Selby Tiger Sharks is affiliated to the Swim England North-East Region.
Selby Tiger Sharks is an inclusive, family-friendly swimming club for young people aged 8–18, where every swimmer is welcomed, supported, and encouraged to achieve their best.
We provide a safe, positive environment that balances enjoyment, commitment, and healthy competition. We value teamwork, respect, and friendship, helping swimmers grow in confidence both in and out of the pool.
Working closely with families, we aim to create a strong sense of belonging — building skilled swimmers, supportive teams, and a lifelong love of the sport.
